ALL ABOUT

NEWBORN & MATERNITY SESSIONS

The newborn stage is my absolute favorite! It is new and exhausting but it is also exciting and fulfilling.

When my babies were little there were days I wished it would hurry on up and then days I wished time would slow down, but the truth of it is time marches on whether we like it or not. Then all of a sudden, you turn around and those pudgy little rolls and teeny tiny fingers and toes belong to a little boy or girl ready to take on the world.

Newborn sessions are meant to be simple. They are meant to be a chance for you to sit back in awe and watch me work with your little miracle. I try to get images where your little one is asleep and also awake, however most of the posing happens when they have a full tummy and are nice and sleepy. This is why I try to aim to schedule sessions within your baby's first 3 weeks of birth. This is generally when they are sleepy enough to be posed and are still used to being all curled up since that is how they had spent the prior 9 months!

You are welcome to schedule a session after that time however it is more likely we will do wrapped poses as babies are generally more alert.

Please browse through some FAQ's below if you still have questions or contact me if you have anything specific on your heart!

I would love to document this sweet time for you!

Do I need to bring anything?

I will be closely in touch with you as we get closer to the birth date and will send you more detailed information. The answer is YES

(but easy things like a pacifier, extra diapers, wipes, and MILK. Lots of milk). The rest you can leave at home unless there's anything specific you have talked to me about incorporating! I have all of the props we need!

How soon should I schedule the session?

Because I can only take on a limited amount of sessions per month and because due dates are slightly "flexible" it is best for you to schedule as soon as possible. (Maybe not as early as the test comes back positive, but maybe consider me one of the friends and family circle.)

The sooner I have your due date on my calendar, the better. I put your due date on my calendar and then we adjust it to a better date once I hear from you that baby has arrived.

How would you describe your style?

Organic. Natural. I try to do simple posing with simple props if any. The images in my portfolio are a good example of my consistency. I prefer timeless images that show the details and the emotions. I like natural colors although I'm not afraid of color!
